Our Meetings

Our Venue

We have exclusive use of the Weybourne House bar, dining room and terrace for our meetings, where we are not distracted by the daily bustle of a more public place. Added to this our lunch and bar caterers are on site to look after us.

We meet in our reasonably priced bar from 11.30am where we socialise, put the world straight, talk sport, holidays, grandchildren, whatever … it’s entirely up to you.

If the weather is fine, we can take our drinks out onto the large terrace and enjoy the beautiful views over the River Wey.

At around 12.30pm we move to the Dining Room where we enjoy a two course lunch followed by coffee and any announcements relating to club Social Activities such as: interclub golf or bowls matches, planned visits or meetings of our monthly Family Finances Group, where members can listen to a speaker or join in a discussion.

Our Meetings

Our dining room can comfortably seat 120. We meet first Thursday of each month from 11.30am. In May and December we hold special luncheons. On these occasions members have a choice: to come on their own, bring wives or partners or bring friends of any gender. We usually start with a welcome drink followed by a three course meal and coffee.

Following our lunches we enjoy a talk from an established Speaker followed by a question/answer session. Our normal monthly meeting concludes at approximately 15.00 pm. Please see our current Meetings Programme page.

The Speakers

We invite Speakers from neighbouring counties to provide us with a varied programme of talks, including topics of local, historical or general interest. For our Guests’ Lunches we have speakers and topics to appeal to all.

Recent talks have covered, for example: Lively Lady, The Secret Alliance with Norway, The Seaside Piers, A Picture of Cricket, Historic Greenwich, Slow Train to Damascus, Fun on Four Wheels.

What is The Cost?

There is a one-off joining fee of £10 with an annual subscription of £50 which covers gratuities, speakers’ fees, Venue and Insurances.

Paid at each meeting to the Club Treasurer is the cost of the lunch of £24, except in May and December when we hold our Guests’ Lunches when the cost is higher to accommodate a special three course luncheon, and welcoming glass of fizz.

Drinks at the bar or at the lunch table are paid to the venue separately by our members. In addition the cost of any of our outings will be paid by attending members.

Cost quoted are correct at time of publication.

If we have whetted your appetite, then please join us free of charge at one of our regular luncheon meetings. We will be delighted to welcome you as our guest.
